TRANSFER OF MATERIALS TO ALMERÍA
The organization transfers necessary material (tools, spare parts, massage tables, etc.) from Barcelona to Almería by road (truck).
Each mechanic is entitled to a metal trunk provided by the organization to carry his/her material (this is the only box that can be loaded on the organization’s truck, both to travel to Almería and for transfers from bivouac to bivouac).
Physios can hand in their massage tables (correctly packaged), in which they can include other materials they need to work with in Almería (this will be the only package that can be transferred to Almería and between bivouacs).
The weight limit for the material of technical assistance personnel will be 30 kg/metal trunk or 20 kg/cardboard box. If this weight is exceeded another box will have to be contracted (see prices).
*In the case of transport of wheels and frames, these should be in rigid boxes. Loose components or those packaged in cardboard boxes will be not be accepted. The transfers are tricky due to the terrain crossed by the trucks, so the organization will not be liable for any damage that may occur.
During the previous month, all technical assistance personnel, like the participants with their bikes, should make sure their material arrives at the warehouse of the ŠKODA Titan Series Almería in Barcelona. Mechanics should also come by beforehand to collect their metal trunk, or request the organization to send it to them (freight collect).
HOW TO TRAVEL TO ALMERÍA?
You can arrive at the start by your own means if you wish, either by road or by scheduled flight. Several airlines fly to Almería. On arrival you will have to travel to the start of the race by road.
For technical assistance personnel who wish to travel in their own car the organization recommends the use of 4×4 vehicles or vehicles that are high off the ground. The bivouacs are always far from main roads and it is necessary to remember that if it rains, it is likely that access to the bivouacs is impossible unless by 4×4 vehicles. You should also contract the race number plate (see rates), which will give you information on the location of the bivouacs and access to them in the area set aside for these vehicles. Vehicles with a race number plate will be given a vinyl cover treatment by the organization for identification purposes.
On arrival in Almería, accredited vehicles can access the bivouac following authorisation from the organization. Once the vehicle is inside the bivouac it cannot be moved until the disassembly of the first bivouac.
TRANSPORT OF MATERIALS BY ROAD
The organization will transport one element per technical assistant (metal trunk in the case of mechanics and a box or casing with massage table for physios). Every night until 22:00 or in the morning before the start of the race, the technical assistance person will deposit the trunk/box in the assigned truck located in the bivouac, and they will find it in the same area on arrival at the next bivouac. Access to the trunk/box is not allowed during the stages, only on arrival at the bivouacs. Nor is access allowed in the marathon stage. The organization will not be liable for material that the technical assistance personnel do not deposit in the truck during the night.
WORKING AREA FOR TECHNICAL SUPPORT TEAMS WHO BRING THEIR OWN TENTS/MARQUEES.
They can occupy a front of a maximum of 6 metres long and must be aligned with the tents provided by the organization.
Vehicles will be located at the back of the tent and access to the bivouacs will not be allowed to articulated vehicles and those over 7 metres long. Before registration ends, the teams need to tell the organization the number of tents they will be taking and their measurements, to include them in the layout of the bivouacs.
Work may not be done outside the space occupied by your tent. The rules on advertising must also be observed. The measurements identifying the service may be exceeded, but without advertising other brands in the working area, only in clothing and materials (and never brands that are competitors of the race sponsors).
RULES FOR THE PLACING OF ADVERTISING
COMMON TENTS OF THE ORGANISATION FOR MECHANICS AND/OR PHYSIOTHERAPISTS
The company offering a service may decorate the walls of the tent with its brand image (no commercial logos of other brands) and 2 banners. No other advertising material can be placed outside the tent.
When mechanics or physios from different companies are working together in a tent they should agree on the placing of advertising and banners. In the event of a dispute, the organization will not authorise the placing of any elements until agreement is reached.
TENT OR PRIVATE SPACE FOR MECHANICS AND/OR PHYSIOTHERAPISTS
A company is allowed to decorate the walls of the tent with a brand image and logos, provided that the size of the logos of partner brands is not bigger than the one of the advertising company, as well as 2 banners. No advertising can be placed outside the private space.
Exhibiting products is totally prohibited.
The companies must notify the organization of the size of the tents, as well as of the vehicles it will use to provide assistance, before registration ends.
USE OF WATER IN CAMPS
It is totally forbidden to collect water in the bivouacs for washing bicycles, parts, jerseys, etc.
A bike washing service will be provided by the organization at the end of each stage (to be confirmed in each one). Each participant or technical support person should come with his/her bicycle, as no bike will be accepted unless it comes with a person who is responsible for it.
Connecting a hose to the water network is not permitted under any circumstances.
All technical assistance personnel who carry a washing system must ensure that the water they use is not allowed to stagnate and form puddles.
CLOTHING
During the race schedule you will face temperatures between a minimum of 05ºC and a maximum of 20ºC and 2 rainy days -in December- on average.
MEDICAL SERVICE
The race has a specialised medical team and assistants to attend to all the groups during the race and in the bivouacs. The basic service timetable is 06:00 to 22:00, with a 24-hour emergency service.
CURRENT DURING THE RACE
To buy extra drinks in the bar areas of the bivouac and hotels, a contactless payment system will be used via a personal wristband. The wristband can be topped up in the Participants’ Service tent. The topping up will be done in EUROS (€).
