ADVICE FOR PARTICIPANTS

The organizers of the ŠKODA Titan Series Almería would like to give you some advice about the selection of mechanical and physiotherapy services. These services are separate from the organization and are provided by companies who work with the race.

  1. Ensure that the person who will provide you with the physiotherapy service is qualified.
  2. Find out the number of bikes or people for each mechanic and physiotherapist.
  3. Find out about the type of massage and its duration. Also the allocation of times.
  4. Check out the creams that will be used for the massages, perhaps it is a good idea to try them before you go to Almería.
  5. Send your mechanical service the brand, model and year of the bicycle. Ensure you have the necessary spare parts available.
  6. A service coordinator will help you in your dealings with them (asistencias@titandesert.com).
  7. The price is not the only factor: the track record, quality and personal treatment over the 5 days also matter.
  8. Define the delivery and collection points of the bike. Plus the prior and later revisions.
  9. If you have any doubts, just ask.

The assistance services undertake to provide the service offers and not exceed the limits of assistance per professional (10/15 bikes per mechanic and 10/12 participants per physiotherapist).

 

WHAT MINIMUM SERVICES ARE OFFERED TO PARTICIPANTS?

Each assistance service will offer the services it considers appropriate and will charge the fee it considers suitable. For example, it could offer the following services:

MECHANICAL ASSISTANCE

  1. Servicing the bicycle before the race and packing it for transport (optional).
  2. A check on the bicycle from the shop/workshop to Barcelona and collection on return (optional).
  3. Assembly of the bicycle and getting it ready in Almería.
  4. Daily checks, fine tuning and cleaning after each stage (except the marathon stage).
  5. Repair of mechanical faults according to needs (they should commit to take the necessary spare parts depending on their customers’ bikes).
  6. Disassembly and packing after the last stage.
  7. Assembly and check in the shop/workshop.

PHYSIOTHERAPY ASSISTANCE:

  1. Prior session or study of the needs and characteristics of the participant before the race.
  2. Session before the first stage (the day of scrutineering).
  3. Session after each stage (except the marathon stage).

The time of each session and the type of treatment will depend on the needs of each service.
